About Evangeline

I come from Alberta, Canada, where the Rocky Mountains hit the prairies. I grew up at Altadore Baptist Church in Calgary with my lovely Canadian family - parents, sister, and now a brother in law and brand new nephew!

I started my service as a field staff with Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) in Lebanon in 2023.

My main work is alongside CBM's partner, THIMAR (formally known as the Lebanese Society for Educational and Social Development), to develop relief projects and ministries throughout

the Middle East and North Africa.

Over the years I've gotten to work with many stellar teams spanning summer camp ministry (Gull Lake Centre), emergency relief (Mennonite Central Committee Lebanon), and community development with the Casapluma Community Project.

My background in education includes a Master’s Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications  with a minor in International Development from the University of Calgary. However I love to learn about just about anything. Currently I'm learning about hermeneutics, humanitarian work, tropical plant care, and trauma-informed care.

My hobbies are about as eclectic as my course history. I dabble in salsa dancing, rock climbing, paddle boarding, singing, and graphic design, all with enthusiasm if not much skill! I'm also into photography - you can see a number of my Lebanon shots on this blog.

On a fun note, I'm getting married! My partner and guru of all things Lebanese, Khalil, is a pastor in the Presbyterian church of Lebanon. He is wonderful.
